LIFE HAS MANY TUNES

Life has embedded in it, opportunities to learn from our daily experiences and those of others. Having had the chance to take care of her younger siblings, Glenda couldn’t help but learn the importance of milk for a growing baby. Milk is an absolute necessity for the growth of a baby. It contains essential nutrients in the proper proportions and also has antibodies to fight off viruses and bacteria. For the healthy development of a baby, milk is a necessity. However, not just any milk is given to the baby–you cannot continuously feed a baby with spoiled milk and expect him/her to grow well.

The importance of WORDS can be likened to milk. Words have both restorative and destructive leanings. Just like the milk that succours and sustains a baby, words serve as tunes that, when well played, even the deadliest of persons awakens to its melo-harmonious waves. Several lives have been positively or negatively impacted by the power of words, which only those who spoke them understand their transcending efficacy. Words also have therapeutic potency, which, when duly discovered, aid to soothe and heal people from life’s pains. When words are rightly spoken, like a melody, it relieves the body, soul, and spirit. “Life has many tunes which can be fine-tuned by words…” Indeed great men understand the power of words.

In the fall of 2018, the idea of Life Tunes was birthed after the Creator and Founder; Dr. Ernest Kwame Affum decided to write a book as part of his legacy of training and developing youths for the future. However, he was in the final year of his Ph.D. and quite busy with thesis-writing, so he thought of a very simple synopsis that would come in handy and be easy to carry around. Simple yet rich in content as it would provide a sandwich of principles, philosophies, and practical concepts about life and living that, when well absorbed; will provide an adequate dosage of daily ‘soultritional’ needs. His mental excursions led him to contact a close friend and colleague, Dr. Saviour Aryetey Nubuor, who encouraged him to pursue the idea. Upon further deliberations of what the title of the book should be, the title LIFE TUNES emerged.

As someone who has worked with youths for over 20 years, Dr. Affum also thought of something all youths can enjoy, hence, audio to go with the book. Upon contacting a young and dynamic medical student who was steadily thriving in media productions, Kudzi Khosa, he advised the inclusion of video. The idea of EKs Quotes Life Tunes now became a PROJECT other than just a Book.

In furtherance to executing the project, the selection of Judith Lulama Ngwenya as the lead narrator did not diminish in any way from the project but rather became a big boost for the prospects of the project. Judith is ardent in artistic presentations and has strong passion for media production and communication. The team came together, discussed the details of the audio/video production, and the project got underway. The production of the book involved several editors and translators because the book normally has five languages. Vol. I had English, French, Chinese, Malayalam, and Portuguese. Vol. Il comprises English, French, Chinese, SWAHILI, and Portuguese.

Towards the completion of the project, the announcement of a new book, EKs Quotes: Life Tunes Vol I began making waves, which was met with excitement among the larger sections of youths living in Wuhan at the time and in several cities around China, particularly, international students. The planning of a book launch got underway with support from Dr. Saviour Aryetey Nubour as leader of the team, Dr. Osamuyimen Aidogie as advisor and other members – Eng/CEO Rice Illunga Kajila, Charis Chifungula Chikumbi, Dr. Marcelle Abegue, Ketsia Kindja Matetu, among others. The book launch was successfully executed on November 17, 2018 at the Marshall Palace Hotel in Wuhan City, China, with a little over a hundred people in attendance. The launch was also sponsored by mostly young African start-up businesses like MBK Group, SkyHouse Travel and Tours, Afro-China Bridge Scholars, Grace Culture Communication, Bukidi Service, Mama Africa Professional and Cup Cake Queen

Subsequently, EKs Quotes Life Tunes as the original project name has metamorphosed to EKs Life Tunes.  EKs Life Tunes is now a brand name with different projects; namely, EKs Quotes being the book department, EKs Development and Mentorship Program (EDaMP), EKs Blogger, EKs Media, and Broadcast, and EKs Life Tunes Chat Room.  The group manages several social media handles on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and WeChat.

EKs Quotes is still the leading activity of the group with the successful publication of Vol. I and the yet to be launched Vol. II titled Directions! Meanwhile, other publications such as Vol. III titled Positive Mindset, Youth Edition, Night Cup Edition, Great Women Edition, and Business Minded Edition are nearing completion. In total, there are over 350 self-written quotes within a space of almost two years. Another complete book, Starting Point: Wisdom Guide for Starters, is also in production.

This book, EKs QUOTES Life Tunes with the signature, “Great men understand the power of words,” is a compendium of quotes, which have been extracted from observations and conversations by the author and meticulously tucked together through inspiring themes. We expect that by reading books published by Life Tunes, you will discover the secrets to living a struggle-free life and model your life after the right principles and sound words.

The team is committed to youth empowerment and development through knowledge acquired from talks, debates, discussions, and other innovative activities.

Be inspired by EKs LIFE TUNES. EKs LIFE TUNES… for the youths, for the World.
